Have discovered my set of china bears the label: Made in Occupied Japan...what's the market for these items?
It's a really beautiful set of dinnerware for 12; I am wondering about the historical significance and the reason for its marking.
Your china could have significant value in the US depending on several things. Most importantly is the condition of the china then the original quality of the set. If it’s a complete set or nearly complete that would be a big plus too.
For seven years after the end of the Second World War the US occupied Japan. Exports from Japan to the US were encouraged but were labeled as from “occupied Japan”. China from that era is collectable because of that fact but quality and condition is very important.
