Father and Son Fishing Trip - Time Of interest expenses

It's a family tradition that was shared with me as a young man with my father. The cycle continued as I shared the same experience with my children. The "Kamloops area lakes" have given us a lifetime of opportunities to seal the bonds within our family.

I received my day "Father present" a week earlier this year when my oldest son Dano was able to join me in "Teepee Lakes" near Bankier, in the heart of southern BC Interior. Dano, now about 30 years old, he started fishing with me at the tender age of three when we moved to Kamloops. Our first trip together was a spring afternoon of "Campbell Lake," the day the ice broke away. It was he who caught the biggest fish the day (and probably the largest trout he has caught ... until today) of flatfish, sitting between his legs while I rowed. Was 4 pounds when raised it to his side, was almost as long as he is.

The "Teepee Lakes consists of three small lakes, Friday, Saturday and Sunday Lagos. The performance fighter rainbow lakes, usually abundant trout that occasionally more than two pounds. I arrived at the community store in the morning Bankier Wednesday to get to our lake cottage on Friday. We stayed in a rustic log, one-room cabin that can accommodate 4 sleepers. Also had a table and a new air-tight stove for heating.

I arrived at the camp where I found my cabin in no time and began unloading the van. Soon I was greeted by two young men, Zach and Kees, who shared some information on fishing with me and showed me a boat that could use Lake Friday. After to unload my truck and get my gear ready, the rest of the afternoon and evening is dedicated to fishing Lake Friday. There was a lone fisherman hidden in the northwest end of lake so I wandered down that road and struck a conversation. Interestingly enough, the gentleman was Marc Layne, a fisheries expert from Chilliwack River specializing in Sturgeon / rainbow trout and salmon fishing on the Fraser River (bcsturgeon.com). I found it interesting that a person who has big fish in the door of his house would some time in a remote place like this.

The arrangement was for me to pick Dano in the middle of the night in Princeton, British Columbia. " Would take the red eye from Vancouver and I was going to go into town at 3 am, pick up and bring it back to the lakes for a couple of days at sea. That plan went down the drain when I heard him shuffling around my cabin at 2:30 am like a bear, because they decided to climb on their own. Needless to say, that scared the living outside Fill me.

After catching a few zzz, we have fish on Friday morning at the lake, catching a single fish at the end of my line. The We did however, catch up with almost all of future relationships, careers and jobs, hockey, contracts, upcoming Olympics and family matters. With sleep deprivation experienced both last night, had a serious need for a nap in the afternoon.

After awakening and a snack to eat We passed over the lake until Sunday and made a round without much action. In the afternoon, Saturday Lake set waiting time and again, only one fish to the boat. Although there were very few people in the camp who were alone when we went to the lake Saturday and Sunday. The isolation of the lakes allows a relatively quiet at any time. Enjoy the chance to observe many species of wildlife such as eagles, loons, deer, bears and moose, the lakes are actually a destination tipi desert. Seeing that none of these species of wildlife walking through the camping areas and navigation around the lakes is a distinct possibility.

After returning to the dark cabin, Dano and I are involved in a deadly series of backgammon. Backgammon is a game that claims to be good after reading the Bible every time the game ... "Backgammon for Blood" (which gave me the gift of a number of years ago.) Of course, Dad won with a come from behind victory to take the rubber match and claim the undisputed crown in the family. On Friday morning we packed most of our things and then left for a few hours on Friday Lake.

There Very few fishermen off Friday morning as a group of former employees of Telmex were arriving for their annual fishing tournament. Some more fish were being caught trolling and probably many more stories that have been sold. Fish saved us this morning, but Dano had the opportunity when a fish beaten while raising anchor ... he could not get his stick in time. He finally retired at around 1:30 pm. It was a great time spending two days with the child once something Now a man wrapped in the rat race of life. Our time spent casually reinforce our already strong relationship that started many years ago in the area Kamloops lakes and continue in the coming years.
