Visitors Guide to Dublin
Dublin is the capital of Ireland and is situated on the east coast. It is famous for its Irish tradition and atmosphere is created by friendly locals. Despite being the largest city in Ireland, is relatively compact and can be seen on the feet.
Dublin History
Hundreds of years ago Dublin was a trading point for slaves and silver. In the time it was controlled by the Viking army. Years later, in 1169, The city was taken by the Normans. After a short period of power that gave the city Normans to the English colonial administration. The Easter Rising of 1916 was the turning point of the city and to influence the UK. From this point onwards the city was led by the Anglo-Irish Treaty that eventually formed the Republic.
Getting to Dublin
Dublin has an international airport making it easily accessible by air. Domestic bus services are also available to and from the city. Train options are expensive and often limited.
Housing Options
Hostels, cottages and bed and breakfast are the most common accommodations. These are scattered throughout the city in abundance and cater for all budgets and requirements. There are few luxury hotels located on the north side of town for those who prefer this option.
Sights and attractions
Dublin has a rich history so there are plenty visit historic features. Christchurch Cathedral is a focal point in the medieval city center. If you are interested in the character of a city, sense and history and then go to Grafton Street, Dublin Castle and the Irish Parliament. Also check out the Joyce, the Dublin Writers Museum and the National because they are traditional to the city of Dublin.
Shops
If shopping is your thing, then it is better to go to Grafton Street, St Stephen's Green and Henry Street. These street sells fashion brands as well as electronics and jewelry. You can also find beautiful memories in the small gift shop for some of the streets small.
Food Options
There are bars and restaurants in Dublin. Most establishments, especially restaurants offer traditional pub food, although every international cuisine can be found within the city.
