guest cabin bedding

Who has the authority to write-up or terminate an employee of a cruise ship?
Who can fire or write-up the cruise ship employees? These employees are the ones who clean the cabins, make the beds, provide room service, work at the Guest Service desk or serve food to guests. I don't think the ship Captain can write-up or terminate them because the Captain is already busy enough and has probably 18,000 things going on at one time. Is the termination or disciplinary action administered by the cruise ship's corporate office or does the Captain actually have the authority to carry out disciplinary procedures such as termination?
If a crew member will get a written warning, - it depends what the reasons are.
If it is disciplinary it is the Staff Captain, which will do the write up.
If it is work related it will be the department head.
In any case the written warning needs to be co-signed by the Captain.
To terminate a crew member it will be done by the Captain.
In addition, a ships court is held - which will be headed by the Captain.
It is one of the Captains duties and protects crew members from some of the not so fair department heads.
A ship can't wait for the Corporate office to make such a decision.
Besides - the Captain has to be making more severe decisions in general - often without the Corporate office
For termination one has to do something severe. So e.g. a person caught stealing - will not be left on the ship longer than the ship's court takes and maybe 30 minutes for packing - under guard. (If the ship is in port of course)
