Country/Redneck wedding?
My fiance and I are just starting to plan our wedding for Nov next year. We are wanting a unique wedding that fits our lifestyle and not your typical wedding. I have had the beautiful chuch wedding and this time I want a beautiful, fun, memoriable wedding. Therefore we came up with the idea to have the wedding in our barn and have a pasture party as the reception. There are a few things I know I want tied into it, hay bails, our tractor, and fall colors/decor. NO CAMO.. he isn't into it.. and no john deere or red checkered stuff. I'm wearing a traditional dress though it won't be that formal, and he is wearing black wranglers black boots and a black cowboy hat. We will have a bbq at the reception. The barn is open on one side.... so my question is I need ideas on ways to decorate the barn for the ceremony and ideas for centerpieces for the reception. Thanks
That sounds like a lot of fun! The only issue I have with it is the hay.... As I suffer from a ton of allergies, I would be absolutely miserable. Even with medication. So, I'd say avoid the hay or at least warn guests on the invite so they can take medication prior (in most cases it takes time to work and if they take it when they get there, they'll be miserable for at least an hour or two-been there, done that). For a fall wedding, I'd recommend gourds, pumpkins, cornucopias, branches, leaves, sunflowers, even potted mums. I like picnic tables, it's simple, yet still cute. You could put a cornucopia with pumpkins and gourds, possibly even some sunflowers or leaves on each table as the centerpiece. Twinkle lights strung in branches along the roof would look pretty too. Branches with leaves and a sunflower or two over the doors will look cute. Then potted mums in the corners. Also, what about using mason jars to serve beverages in? Hope this helps, and congrats!
