Log Cabin Democrat

The western United States
From a modern perspective, the history of the American West is seen as brave American soldiers to defend attacking Indians. This, however, is a common mistake. The two most eminent historians of the late 1890's Frederick Jackson Turner and Buffalo Bill Cody told their stories through tests and shows, respectively, which are spread over historical inaccuracies. Tuner told the story of the free land that was occupied peacefully and creating a unique identity in America, while the story of Buffalo Bill told of violent disputes with the Indians who occupied the land. Because of its sharp contrast in the perception of western expansion both can not be right, so that the American vision of western expansion is seen as a merger of the two ideas different. It was Turner who argued that "the existence of an area of free land, its continuous and the advance of American settlement westward explain the development of America, and to some extent he was right, but comparing the ideas of Turner with Buffalo Bill, and what we know now that a historical fact can not wholeheartedly agree with the statement of Turner.
Initial Turner rings true statement. The final advance America West says American development. Turner believes that immigrants who settled the American frontier developed their American identity and said, "The frontier is the line of more rapid and effective Americanization. Since progress can also signify a cultural progress, equality and nationalization of growth increasing contribution the development of America. Thomas Jefferson also believed that the move to the west and the dissemination of the United States to keep the young nation's occurred tyranny, as was the westward expansion, which is partially responsible for America's democratic forms. For Turner, the progress icon symbolizes cabin as well. According to Richard White, "Turner symbolizes the initial regression that came with the future progress of the long cabin." The boundary line marked a decline in technology and civilized life, but also marked the self-sufficiency. Furthermore, knowing the success of westward expansion is the regression marking the beginning of progress in America, as if, on the border line, the country had to take a step back to move two steps forward.
When you easy not agree with Turner is his belief that there was ever "free land." Tuner called "the peaceful occupation of a continent nearly vacuum, so the Indians and only incidentally a part of nature. White Richard Turner says that "recognizes the conflict with the Indians, but he was simply part of a much greater contact with nature that surrounded the settlers in a primitive world and necessary for regression of early pioneers. "Without the availability of" free the land "the advancement of America can not be seen only as peaceful. This view, however, agree with the perception of expansion Western American history.
Buffalo Bill Cody West was more violent retelling the same story. When Turner left the Indian version, Cody's story gave them a role. This role was to portray the Indians as hostile natives who attacked American settlers. Many of the pieces featured Cody series Indian attacks, for example, Custer's Last Stand and the capture of e-Deadwood coach for the Indians. Cody said the violent side of American westward expansion, but he told a story biased.
