how do I sand tiny pieces of wood to make miniature furniture?
I made a miniature log cabin and now I'm making furniture for it. The only problem is I'm having trouble sanding and small pieces of wood, as they say the legs of a stove, and was hoping someone could give me some advice. Thanks Chris
All great answers so far! I am a professional model builder / accessories-master and I use a mixture of everything above. My favorite and the cheapest is the variety of clubs foam-backed sandpaper available at a beauty supply store (the same is sold in stores hobby, but usually twice the price!). I have a simple set of files in miniature. Building a diorama 1 / 35 scale, which uses small blocks, holding in my Dremel tool ... and used it as a lathe with files and sanding sticks in turn, rails and other work. This takes a little practice and a lot patience ... but it is worth the results. If you ever need to do a lot of an item back ... I recommend doing the first as above ... then the use of plaster to make a mold and casting resin! Good luck!
