Log Cabin home plan
planning on moving to maine or canada soon, advice?
I *may* move there when I am 18. i doubt that it will be legal, but who can find me anyways. I am planning on two firearms, one for hunting (or maybe a bow, longbow not compound most likely) and a Rimfire 22 for very small game, like rabbits and birds.
anyways, one of my main problems are my home-- I am planning on a log cabin, but it takes long to make. I prefer to not be in a camper, but it is a possibility, either for the long run or a temporary home until the cabin is done. the problem with that is I cant make a fire inside, and if I get a generator it will both make lots of noise, scaring away game, and it may attract attention. I know it gets very cold up there (I live in Connecticut, so it isn't that big a change), but I will prepare for long winters.
I have a good list for what I will need, and i am still working on that, but does anyone see any difficulties besides the fact that I may be caught?
Please keep all your firearms and other weapons outside of Canada. If you really can't live without them, you may want to consider some other country. I have a feeling you will be given a hard time at the border if you try to bring them all in at once.
Edit: If you are caught illegally living in Canada, there is a very high chance that you will not be allowed back into the country. Remember, Canada is really different than the United States. Illegally entering the country, illegally hunting our animals, and bringing firearms into the country are, if not prohibited, most likely going to land you in jail for a while and you will be forced out of the country. Our gun laws are very strict.
