Housewarming Party Desserts!!!!Help?
I need three awesome desserts to bake for my housewarming party on Saturday, about fifty people are coming, so I need three easy recipes that I can make two or three of that isn't too time consuming, I work a full time job, and will be baking these Friday night, Saturday morning. Our home is like a Log Cabin so the theme is rustic if that helps.
Gooey butter cake is probably the best cake you've ever tasted It can be cut into cookie-size bars or larger squares, and keeps very well for a week on your counter (covered), so can be made well ahead:
GOOEY BUTTER CAKE
1 box pound cake mix
2 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 stick melted butter

8 oz. cream cheese, softened
2 eggs
1 box powdered sugar
.... Mix together cake mix, 2 eggs,vanilla & butter and spread in greased 9x13" pan. Combine rest of ingredients (reserve 1/2 c. powdered sugar) and beat well. Spread on top of cake layer. Bake at 350 for 30-35 min, or until golden brown. Cool and sprinkle rest of powdered sugar on top. Cut into squares
This cake can also be made a day or so ahead:
BROWNIE DUMP CAKE
1 pkg chocolate cake mix
1 small pkg instant chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
3/4 c. oil
3/4 c. water
1 6-oz. pkg chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts
powdered sugar
.... Dump all ingredients (except chips, nuts & powdered sugar) into big bowl and beat for 4 min. Blend in chips & nuts. Bake in greased bundt or tube pan for 45-50 min at 350. Cool 5-10 min. Invert from pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.....
These pies can be made several days ahead. The storebought graham cracker crusts have plastic inserts which flip over the filled pies, so you can store several stacked in the refrigerator. You can substitute pink lemonade or limeade for the lemonade (and have several flavors then)
LEMONADE PIE
1 large container Cool Whip, thawed
1 6-oz. can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed, undiluted
1 can Eagle Brand sweetened, condensed milk
1 9" graham cracker crust
... Mix all ingredients together well and pour into pie crust. You can dollop more Cool Whip on top, if desired. Chill at least 4 hours before serving
