im thinking about building a house cheap. would the cheapest way to do this ...?
i already own land and im single with no children. would a good way to do this buy a 16x24 garage 2 floors for around $12,000 and do the rest of the work myself. the only thing i need done is the septic, well, and slab. i can do the wiring, plumbing, installing the furnace, insulation, doors, and walls. i was thinking about putting in sliding glass doors where the garage door is. the down stairs would be a living room, kitchen combo, with a closet. the upstairs would be the bed room, bathroom and two closets. i realize it would be small but i dont need much and i already have a med. size shed for storage. im pondering the Log Cabins kits, but they seem like a lot more work. any other cheap ways to do this? what about dome houses?
Licensed contractors should be used for your own safety even if it is not a requirement where you live. Log Cabin "kits" are very expensive and way more complicated than they seem. Surely there are building codes where you are - check out the requirements first.

In general, the cut logs that are required for construction are delivered to the construction site along with the other materials necessary for the structural components of the house.
