what is that movie about fairies called?
i saw it wen i was pretty young
its about a young girl in this house
there is a creek out the back and she thinks she has seen a fairy
she like makes them furniture and stuff in her attic out of twigs and moss
then there is some old guys playing chess at one point and some guy who is trying to prove that fairies are real
then all these people and press come to see the faires at the creek but they dont coz they are hiding
i THINK she lets her frend in on the secret to

It sounds like "Fairy Tale: A True Story" which was aired on the Sci-Fi Channel. The information I was able to find says it was made in 2008 even though I watched it in 2007 and they said back then that it was a brand new made-for-SciFiChannel film. But they used alot of the elements you described.
