If Native American Rugs a thing of the past?
Native American made rugs can often be expensive to buy. Its cost is due to its high quality hand done. Unfortunately, the people who make the carpets are declining in number because no one wants to learn the art more. The grandparents are not able to teach their grandchildren as was the case in past generations.
The best known type of textile art in North America is Native American rugs and blankets. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is impeccable making these rugs very expensive. In the southwestern United States and in Mexico, these carpets are still made the traditional way. Artisans kneel in front of a wooden loom, and weave colored threads using a shuttle. They proudly proclaim impressive large-scale geometric designs.
Change the wool of domestic sheep when they were introduced by the Spanish, the original native rugs were made with cotton yarns hand spinning. One of the many impressive Native American rugs to be found are the Navajo designs.
Another interesting method used to manufacture of these carpets is by finger weaving. Immaculate finger weaving is done by many tribes was a key method used since ancient times. One is the carpet tribal people known as Chilkat Tlingit. Another is the Seminole sheet. Another essential aspect of the textile art of Native Americans is mosaic.

It is sad to realize that there are fewer Native American artists ever. Some are doing everything possible to keep their art and crafts hand with life.
At this time, there are very few weavers resistant than the use of the old traditions of Native American rugs. Prices may up to 6 digits, especially in carpets period due to the amount of time devoted to creation. Only a very small percentage of younger Native American young people are studying the intricate art of Native American rugs.
For those who want a unique design comes from the Native American culture would be a perfect investment. Although this would not be for general use, but rather an ornamental and decorative piece, it would be great if more people come to recognize the ancient tradition and slow extinction of Native Americans to make carpet.
