What are the best places in the U.S. This backpack or hike a few days?
Me and a couple of friends want to go backpacking in the woods away from society, and see some beautiful sites along the road. We enjoy what I was looking more for a trip of several days. We would also like be close to Ky, Tn, NC, SC, Virginia, and some neighboring states. We camp, but not the modern type, which is housed in a log cabin or even pay to be in a place, we want to launch only one thing sorta store.
What about the Appalachian Trail, which begins in Tennessee I believe, and ends in Maine. Have "safe havens" from time to time that are actually three sides of the cabin with open front .. also have a wood floor. There is no bathroom in them, but usually there is a fence are also usually close to the lake water of some sort .. .. stream and are on a first come first served basis.
