Is there a way besides sewing to join a crochet pattern together without it showing?
Basically, I'm playing with the idea of making the traditional Log Cabin quilt pattern only using crocheting instead. I am curious because if I did it in the traditional type way that quilters did, I would not like any yarn to show where I join the pieces together. I am not very good at sewing (why I'm attempting to crochet it instead) and kind of want to avoid using thread or fishing string to hold my poor blanket together. Is there a crochet stitch or similar that would be hidden and hold my blanket together? Thanks!
Use the same color (black, for instance) on the last row of each block. Then you can sew the afghan together with black yarn, and it won't show. This is how granny square afghans are usually made and joined. You can also crochet the afghan together with the black (or whatever color) yarn, and it will be very hard to detect.
