How should I finish my old house?
i have been the reconstruction of this ancient house was built in late 1800 a friend convinced me mind exposure of the old wooden structure some areas, said it would be ordered, there was some kind of art studies in desieghn and I'm just a useful idiot man, so I went with it, so this house is allmost done i just need to put the finishing touches to it, for me the old wood is dark and dirty others seem rustic, I'm going to paint, so will clarify things look cleaner and still have that rustic wood grain in sight, what you think. to paint not the paint that is ?????????????????
Sounds like a beautiful house. A period house is the only place where I believe not to paint the dark wood. But if you're looking to lighten the wood, have you considered white wash? It's like a clearer commitment ... wood, but keep the look the grain of the wood. Could try a small patch first to see if you like it I think it is difficult to remove if you change your mind.
