What to do with my small dog during airport layovers?
I have an 8-pound dog who I plan to fly with me in the cabin on an upcoming trip. There are no direct-flight options, so we will have a layover. I'm wondering how the dog will do in the connecting airport. Are there any airports where I can let her out to potty, play and/or exercise? Also, since this is the first time the dog will be flying, any suggestions or links to helpful tips will be welcome!
I would get some ZenPuppy Calm treats from Petsmart or any treats that will calm her before flying. Also do not give food or water 3 hours prior to your flight departing. Make sure she goes out to use the bathroom before departing also. Bring something from home (a towel or something) that smells like you or your house to help put her at ease. Also make sure she is comfortable being in her new kennel. Putting the towel in it will help with that. Have a safe trip!!
