How do I incorporate my western theme with my light yellow living room and kitchen?
I went to Lowe's this weekend and bought some paint for my living room, kitchen, and dining room. (which were painted dark red when we bought the house) After searching for about an hour, I found, what I thought, was the perfect color. In the store, it appeared creamish/light light tan. Got home, painted two layers of primer, then two layers of paint, and ended up with light yellow paint on my walls. I have been collecting western decor over the last year but now i'm not sure how i'm going to incorporate the yellow with my western. I don't really have the spare money to go out and buy 4 gallons of a different color. So if anyone has any ideas of how to make yellow and western work, that would be awesome! (by western. im talking cowboy boots, horseshoes, barbed wire, rope, ect.)
Use accents that will help to tone down the yellow and make the Western items pop. Shades of brown and tan will work very well as would a rusty/orange. You can think of an autumn bouquet and incorporate that range of hues. You didn't say what color your furniture is but perhaps a brown or plaid throw would help to pull it together.
